Another week is almost over. This is an important week for me because I made the decision to switch schools (I started the new school this Monday) and take different classes. I’m really happy with the decision and am excited for what the future has in store!
Enough about school because that’s not what WIAW is about. Let’s get into the best part of this post: food. Today I’m going to be sharing recent eats from the past couple of days.
Recent Snack: I know I know, not the healthiest snack. It was my brothers birthday on the weekend and we had cheesecake. It was delicious!
Recent Post Workout Snack: A smoothie (made with: spinach, frozen berries, one frozen banana, one serving protein powder, cinnamon and water) topped with Seitenbacher Kakao Düsis cereal.
Recent Snack: An apple and some mixed nuts (cashews, almonds, pistachios).
Recent Lunch: Brown rice with chicken breast. Followed by unpictured dessert: dark chocolate.
Recent Breakfast: Four pieces of Protein French Toast topped with maple syrup.
Recent Lunch: A sandwich (two pieces of protein bread from Aldi, cheese, salami and lettuce), a bowl of yogurt with blueberries and some dark chocolate. I was craving something sweet and savory. :)
Recent Breakfast: Two pieces of protein bread from Aldi topped with peanut butter, honey and banana slices.
Recent Snack: I tried this new German protein bar (Seitenbacher). Would anyone be interested in a review?
Recent Snack: Oh, would you look at that..more cheesecake! I actually didn’t take pictures of all the cheesecake I ate. I fell into a cheesecake coma over the weekend but I’m fine now. :)
I hope you are all having a great week so far!
Are you a fan of cheesecake? Do you top your smoothies off with cereal or granola? If you eat protein bars, what is your favorite brand?

I LOVE CHEESECAKE. haha :)
ReplyDeleteall the rest of your eats look delicious, too - especially that sandwich!
So many great eats! And I think its okay to be able to indulge in a treat every once in a while. I'm not sure which of your meals/snacks I like the most though - everything looks so good! If I had to pick though, I guess I'd go with the smoothie! Love the fiber-rich ingredients and that you topped it with cereal. I'm always looking for unconventional uses for my own Kellogg's FiberPlus cereal throughout the day.
ReplyDeleteI think cheesecake is the PERFECT snack..any cake for that matter!! I lovee granola on smoothies..it's almost essential!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a huge cheesecake fan (I know, weird, right?), but mmm, if you have a warm fresh cookie? Pass that sucker my way. Love your purple smoothie--can't say I've ever topped mine with granola, but I should! Would add some great texture, and I like mine thick enough to eat with a spoon anyway.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was younger I wasnt a big fan of cheesecake but now I am. :) Ohh, cookies. Don't get me started on those! :P
DeleteYes, I agree. I like my smoothies really thick too.
I used to be OBSESSED with pistachios! They were so fun to crack open and eat salted. Now that I am no longer viciously counting fat grams, I can't wait to get my hands on some =)
ReplyDeleteYup, they make a great snack! :)
DeleteYes I love cheesecake so I don't blame you. Especially the European ones, oh my. I love that cereal you used on your shake too. Looks yummy. I usually use rice cereal or puffed wheat cereal on mine for topping.
ReplyDeleteThat cereal (and everything) looks delicious! There were some great cereals I tried when we were in Europe that I wish we could get over here. :)
ReplyDeleteI had actually never thought of topping my smoothies with cereal. I make a smoothie for the hubby every morning since he's not a huge breakfast eater, and he loves granola too...I might have to try that in the morning!
Ironically enough I just posted the smoothie I always make him this morning: http://lifewithcheeseburgers.com/2012/09/12/hubbys-favorite-breakfast-smoothie/
You know, if you wanted to we could do a swap and I'd send you any German cereal you want. :)
DeleteI checked out the smoothie you make for your hubby every morning and it looks so good! I'll have to try it sometime. :)
You win for the best WIAW title. :)
ReplyDeleteI like to top my smoothies with raw oats or cinnamon Kashi cereal.
and of course, I LOVE cheesecake. And now I'm craving it - thankyouverymuch.
your welcome.
DeleteAmazing look food - the protein bread looks amazing, as does your smoothy and that cheesecake.. Yummy!
ReplyDeleteI mean.....it's cheesecake. How can you possibly say no?? Haha!
ReplyDeleteI love cheesecake with a graham cracker crust and lots of cherries in syrup on top. Mmmm. I'm glad you're happy with your school switch!
ReplyDeleteI ADORE cheesecake! It's one of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteOooooh cheesecake! I love cheesecake!
ReplyDeleteI've actually never thought of topping a smoothie with cereal/granola - awesome idea!
ReplyDeleteI gotta say, I'm not really one for cheesecake (I know, weird right?), but that pic makes me wish I was ;)
ReplyDeleteI would love a review to the protein bar... i've tried a seitenbacher riegel but the one i had reminded me of the treats we give our horses (looks & taste) .
ReplyDeleteI'll work on getting a review of the protein bars up soon. :)
Deleteindeed the cheesecake looks good - did you bake it or your mother? do you have any recipe? :)
ReplyDeleteand what's the "pink" in the protein bar? (are there fruits in it or anything?) and did you like it?
My mom made the cheesecake. She just used a standard cheesecake recipe to make it. :) I could ask her about it if you like.
DeleteThe "pink" in the protein bar was strawberries. I'll have a review up soon.
jay! I'm looking forward to the review!
Deleteand the recipe would be awesome :)
I'm not a fan of cheesecake. It's ok, but I prefer fruity or chocolaty desserts. I often top my smoothies with chocolate chips. That's still healthy, right?
ReplyDeleteYou seem to be a Seitenbacher fan? I've never bought their products, because I HATE their radio commercial. Most annoying commercial ever! And their stuff is overpriced. I prefer Alnatura fruit muesli.
Oh yeah, a smoothie topped with chocolate is totally acceptable! Chocolate is healthy so it's fine. ;)
DeleteYes, I'm a fan of the Seitenbacher cereal, protein bars and cookies that I've tried. I admit, they are a bit expensive. I think it's because it's not a big brand. I've never heard the radio commercial before..
sometimes you can't just not eat a piece (or two) of a good cake, especially when it's someones birthday :)
ReplyDeletei never tried a protein bar, because i wasn't really interested. and now that i don't eat dairy anymore, there aren't very any to choose from :(
If I ever find any dairy free protein bars in Germany I'll let you know!
DeleteTHAT CHEESECAKE!! You're torturing me with this post, Shannon! ;) Cheesecake is my *absolute* favorite dessert, no question. (Ice cream is in it's own category), however it's been so long since I've had a piece. I'd really like to change that this week, so I meet seek out a piece at a restaurant. Or, even better make one myself. Cheesecake comas are the best comas, yeah?
ReplyDeleteAll your eats look fantastic, as always! I'd love to hear your thoughts about the protein bar; is it similar to bars you can buy in the US?
Hope you're having a great week! <3
Yes, yes, yes. Cheesecake is awesome but dont get me started on ice cream. Moderation goes out the window when eating ice cream. But thats ok because I enjoy ice cream. :)
DeleteThe Seitenbacher protein bar mentioned in this post is the ONLY healthy and good protein bar I've found in Germany. It has a short list of ingredients, too.
Yum that protein french toast looks so delicious, and so easy to make! I know what I'm having for breakfast tomorrow!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd dessert tonight...that cheesecake looks amazing! haha
Majorly craving cheesecake now thanks haha! There must be some nutritional saving grace to cheesecake...ermmm, there's some protein in there...some calcium? Hehe.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh sure, cheesecake has some protein. And it's yummy. It's a win win situation! :D
DeleteCongrats on starting the new school! I hope it is going well! Also, happy birthday to your brother. Love all th eats as usual :)
ReplyDeleteGreat looking day! The cheesecake looks delicious. I love mine topped with fruit. Your smoothie looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteAll your meals look delicious! Especially the cheesecake :) Good luck with your new school!
ReplyDeleteDon't hate me but I don't like cheesecake :/ I don't know why...I've tried but no me gusta :( On the other hand, all your other eats look AMAZING. I need some french toast in my life!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend pretty lady!
No, I dont hate you because you dont like cheesecake. I used to not like it as much but as I got older I started liking it more and more. :)
DeleteThank you! Have a great weekend too! :)
Dessert is so a part of a healthy balanced lifestyle! I'm not a big cheesecake fan, but I LOVE ice cream and chocolate and have them daily :) Caramel is a latest new addiction, too...And protein bars = always awesome. I miss Seitenbacher, especially the Kakao Dusis. They're so yummy! And I *want* that protein bread so bad, it looks amazing. German bread is the best!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that I rarely ever comment anymore, but I *am* reading - your blog is just about my favorite one out there! I'd say you're my idea of just about the healthiest healthy living blogger out there and I love your attitude in general. Plus, your food photographs are gorgeous. You = my role model. I still have a long way to go in food photography to get to your level, though! Did you take classes? Advice, please! Also, I'd love to hear about why you decided to transfer universities. Happy Sunday!
MMmmm your desserts rock my friend, a vital part of life :D
ReplyDeleteI love your workout routine defintiely, it is so like mine especially in dancing and walking!
Cheers
