I’ve been a busy bee! I have one more final to go, I’m so ready to get it done with! I’ll be busy studying math the next few days, so please bare with me. I might not post that often but once I have more time, I definitely will.
I’ve always loved traveling, and always will. Besides health and fitness, traveling and visiting new places is also a passion of mine. I love it!
A lot of people think that you cant eat healthy on the go. It’s actually a lot easer than people think it is. You just have to be prepared. Simple as that.
In this new series I’m going to share my favorite ways to eat healthy while on the go. I have a lot of fun things planned for this series, so stay tuned!
Part 1: Pack Healthy Snacks
Healthy snacks such as bars and fruit are perfect for on the go. They aren't super heavy and are small enough to keep in a purse.
Sealable plastic bags and small tuber ware are also a great thing to use. You can easily store your snacks or meals in them.
I usually pack things such as homemade trail mix in sealable plastic bags. I like to cut up an apple and put it into small tuber ware box, too.
Hydration is also very important when you are out and about. I like to take a water bottle, a shaker cup and protein powder with me. This way, I can have plain water and even make a protein shake when I’m on the go.
If you don’t have single serving packets of protein powder, simple put a serving of your protein powder into a sealable plastic bag.

There are many cool new gadgets for us foodies out there! I recently got a banana guard to keep my bananas from getting smooshed when I’m on the go. If you don’t have one of these yet, I highly recommend it.
My favorite healthy on the go snacks:
- Fruit: Apples and bananas
- Homemade trail mix (mixed nuts, pretzels, dried fruit etc.)
- Popcorn
- Mixed dry cereal
- Protein shakes
- Bars
Packing healthy snacks is a great way to prevent you from eating junk food.
Gum is also something I like to take with me. I get bored pretty easily when I’m in the car, so I like to chew gum. Is that weird? It’ll also help keep your breath fresh and teeth (somewhat) clean.
Feel free to share your tips and ideas in the comments below. :)
Do you like to travel? What are your favorite on the go snacks? If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I basically do the same. And I also chew gum when I'm bored or after I've had coffee. Bringing smoothies in cooler packs is also a great thing to do in case you get hungry + they're very nutritious!
ReplyDeleteHey,
ReplyDeletegum really is a something to keep you busy (at least your mouth). :D
I'm still not a supporter of protein powder but for the rest you're snacks are awsome. I'm just starting to become a fan of healthy bars. Always looking for new brands cause I couldn't find my favourite one yet.
I also like to take carrots with me. I like them a little better than fruit because they're just not as sticky ;)
Hey :) Sag mal, woher bekommst du deine Luna Bars in Deutschland?
Great snack ideas! I love chewing gum while driving, too!
ReplyDeleteooo i have a road trip planned at the end of june too. where are you off to? and i totally pack snacks. i usually have nuts in small sandwich bags and some packets of oatmeal. ooo i even take chia seeds so i can make some chia seed pudding with water too. and single serving almond milks and green juices!
ReplyDeleteyay for eating on the go! i’m about to embark on the epic drive-halfway-across-the-country trip and you better believe I am going to be packing some healthy snacks. bars are my favorite, and if you have a mini-cooler (or even a lunch box with an ice pack!) then stashing fruit and sandwiches are easy too! if I’m passenger I like to bring single-serve greek yogurts, but definitely not if I’m driving hahaha. The protein shake thing is a fantastic idea, I never thought of that!! Going to have to try that for my road trip fo sho!
ReplyDeleteAwesome idea :)
ReplyDeleteI wish you a beautiful long weekend and enjoy the amazing weather! :)
:*
good ideas!! I always bring snacks with me in the car because I refuse to eat crap on the side stations. ew!
ReplyDeleteI thought you just started eating gum again....I chew it like a fiend!
I also get so dehydrated on car trips because I am afraid to drink too much because I will have to stop a lot. Eek not a good habit, I am the same way with gum. I usually bring raw veggies because of that bored crunch factor.
ReplyDeleteThe banana guard gadget was so cool! Where did you get it? Glad you tried a couple of vegan-friendly nutritional bars! Where are you heading for?
ReplyDeletei am excited for this new series because this is something I struggle with a lot and could really use some helpful hints.
ReplyDeleteLove that banana holder!
ReplyDeleteThis a great idea for a series!! I love to travel so I think it will be useful to me. I think the most important thing is the hydration. If I don't drink enough water while traveling, I get sick. Can't wait for future posts in this series! :)
ReplyDeleteI always bring LARABARS & Clif bars with me! Oh and apples too! That is a really cute banana case.
ReplyDeleteYaya for road trips my friend :D
ReplyDeleteHope you have an amazing time! Great snack storage :D
Cheers

I love traveling! And while I agree it's good to be prepared (you never know when you'll be hungry without food readily available) I also think it's a big part of traveling to go out and try the food of the place, too - food is such a great part of culture!
ReplyDeleteI always make sure to pack a few healthy snack options when traveling. I find that by doing so, it helps me be better prepared for the unexpected. Kellogg's FiberPlus cereal and snack bars always make my list. So do apples and homemade trail mix.
ReplyDeleteI have a banana guard too! They are so cool haha(: my mom made fun of me for it, but I convinced her to get it for my birthday present anyways; it's so handy!
ReplyDeleteJust desire to say your article is as astonishing. The clarity
